If small road imperfections feel harsh and the car keeps bouncing after a speed bump, your shock absorbers have lost hydraulic damping capacity. Shock seals degrade faster in Dubai’s heat, as oil thins under high temperature and escapes past the seals, reducing resistance. A metallic clunk over speed bumps points to worn ball joints, degraded control arm bushings, or failed strut top mounts. Dubai’s frequent speed bumps create a high-load impact cycle that wears these components significantly faster than highway-only driving, and this is especially common on BMW X5, X7, Audi Q7, and Mercedes GLE models.
A vehicle that sits lower on one corner after resting overnight has a failed air suspension component — typically a leaking air strut, a failing compressor, or a faulty valve block. This is the defining symptom of Range Rover EAS failure, Mercedes AIRMATIC compressor wear, and Porsche PASM strut failure, and it worsens quickly without repair.
If your car drifts to one side on a straight road without steering input, the cause is worn control arms, damaged tie rods, or wheel alignment drift caused by suspension wear. A wheel alignment on its own will not fix this permanently — the worn component has to be replaced first, then alignment corrected to manufacturer specification.
Feathered, cupped, or one-sided tyre wear is a direct result of incorrect wheel geometry caused by worn suspension. New tyres will wear the same way if the underlying suspension fault isn’t corrected first. We diagnose the root cause, replace the faulty component, and carry out a four-wheel alignment, all in one visit.
If the nose of the car dips noticeably when braking, the front shocks have lost compression damping. This increases braking distance, puts extra load on the front tyres, and stresses the brake system unnecessarily. Our technicians inspect both the suspension and brake system together to give you a complete, accurate picture rather than treating them separately.
A wet or oily film on the shock absorber body means the hydraulic seal has failed and internal fluid is escaping — the shock is no longer providing effective damping. A shock in this condition needs replacing, and we always replace shocks in pairs per axle to maintain equal ride balance and avoid a handling imbalance.
Heavy leaning in corners means the anti-roll bar bushings or end links have failed and can no longer resist lateral body movement through turns. This is most noticeable on large luxury SUVs — Range Rover Vogue, BMW X5, X7, and Mercedes GLS. Replacing the anti-roll bar links and bushings restores corner stability and driver confidence.
A steering wheel that vibrates between 80 and 120 km/h usually points to worn suspension components transmitting road frequency directly into the steering column. This often appears alongside a separate steering system fault, so we inspect both systems together in the same visit to accurately find and fix the actual cause.
